About
Nulltap™ is an independent cybersecurity publication helping defenders understand threats and make informed decisions.
Mission
Nulltap is an independent cybersecurity publication for people who defend systems. We report from the primary record, explain the technical mechanism, separate evidence from assessment, and give readers concrete ways to check their own exposure.
The name comes from /dev/null, the Unix destination for making things disappear. Nulltap reports on attacker behavior before it’s gone.
What we cover
Nulltap covers endpoint, cloud, network, identity, application security, AI systems, and active threats. Stories are selected for their reach, consequence, immediacy, usefulness to defenders, and strength of evidence.
Articles link to advisories, filings, technical reports, court records, and official statements when those sources are available. Claims, attribution, analysis, and material unknowns are identified plainly.
How we work
Reporting begins with source qualification. Consequential claims are checked against primary evidence, and quotations, dates, identifiers, affected versions, scope, attribution, technical mechanisms, and defensive guidance are reviewed before publication.
Visuals must represent the reporting honestly. Technical figures are checked against their source-backed relationships, and third-party assets require a documented right to use them. Read the full editorial standards for our rules on evidence, independence, corrections, and reader safety.
Corrections
When a material error is corrected, the article receives a dated note explaining what changed. Minor spelling and formatting fixes may be made without a note when they do not alter meaning.
Send corrections with the article URL, the disputed text, and a primary source when available.
